Women Bible Conference

The first lady to arrive was our little friend, Stephanie's mother.  As time passed more ladies arrived coming from every path in Las Cabasas.  We were blessed to have some ladies come who had not ever participated with the community activities before.  Thank you God for bringing new friends to this gathering.  Maida led the ladies in singing of the children's songs, Father Abraham, Praise the Lord and a few more.  Carol was really impressed with how this broke up the quietness of the ladies.  What a beautiful ice breaker Maida.  Thank you for always going beyond your call of duty.

Carol started the bible study by sharing how each of us are beautiful in the eyes of God.  How we are beautifully and wonderfully made, Psalm 139:13-14.  Each lady was given a mirror to look at and see the beauty of God's creation -them.  They all giggled as they gazed into their mirrors.  As the afternoon progressed the circle became larger and larger till we had 28 ladies total.

The next activity consisted of giving each lady a tube of hand lotion.  We all worked hard for our families.  Carol shared how she observed this week the ladies washing clothes on the pilla,  cooking their daily meals, carrying water to the job site and making tamales.  All of us as ladies worked very hard to provide for our families.  Carol asked the ladies to partner up with a friend and massage each others hands with the lotion.  Sulema's shared please do not use a lot so it will last a long time.  Two ladies got so into it they went up each other's arms rubbing and massaging each other every so gently.  The scripture reference here was Ephesians 2:10 "For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do."
"Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it."
I Corinthians 12:27

The conclusion of the women's bible study was Carol sharing out of Ephesians 6:10 "Be strong in the Lord and put on his mighty power."  Carol gave his lady an apron which the ladies of Salemburg Baptist Church made for each lade.  Carol shared to wear this as their protection from God each day as they work diligently for their families.   Carol also shared out of  Numbers 6:24'"The LORD bless you and keep you. She encouraged each lady as we all walk with the Lord to allow God to lead and guide our daily lives with his strength and power.  All the ladies proudly modeled their new aprons and were so appreciative of their gifts from God under those mango trees on a bright and beautiful Saturday afternoon.  As the women finished up we could hear the laughter and joy coming from up the path as the men entertained the children for the ladies to have one afternoon duty free from their families.  Thank you God for all you helped make this happen.
