A Special Meal

One evening near the end of the week we decided to have a lesson in Honduran culture.  The team went into town to go shopping at Maxi Bodega and KFC.  So they had a big lunch so no worries about them being very hungry.  Pastor Brian made the tortillas earlier that day.  Mike cooked up some beans.  For dinner that evening we had one scoop full of beans and two tortillas.  The adults went through the line first as Pastor Brian scooped out their beans and I gave out their two tortillas.  There was water to drink.  There was a couple who asked could they have more but Pastor Brian shared we need to make sure there is enough for everyone to eat.  Everyone sat down to supper eating and making burritos out of their small portions of food.  They all did it without complaining.  One of us ask could we have seconds but Pastor Brian shared there is not anymore.  There was a gracious lesson learned on this evening and an amazing visual taught to us all.
Pastor Brian ask why do you think we did this tonight.  Carlton shared this is how many Hondurans live on a daily basis.  Thank you God for young people who have compassion and understanding of others.  If you have at least a meal to eat today this is more than 80 percent of our world.
Pastor Brian shared how proud he was of how each one of these  young people handled their evening meal.

And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:19
