Worship on Sunday

We traveled down the dusty long road to worship on Sunday  The day before Eduardo was asked did he know who Jesus was and he commit was "So So".  This is a very sad statement to share about our King of Kings and Lord of Lords, the Alpha and the Omega and the Beginning and the End.  So he was invited to church Sunday morning to hear the good news of Jesus Christ.
Penny shared her testimony which is one from her childhood.  She accepted Christ as a child and she had the full attention of all the children sitting in the church on this nice warm morning,  Thank you Penny for sharing from your heart the love you have for Jesus and hopefully one child heard the Word and will receive Jesus as their Lord and Savior.
John shared his sermon with the team on Saturday evening as his devotional.  He read from John 14:1-9.  He explained how we are our Jesus' disciples here on this earth.  Jesus worked with his twelve disciples daily and it was still hard for them to believe all that Jesus was doing and saying because they had not received the Holy Spirit.  "When the Holy Spirit comes you will understand."  He also shared out of Matthew 4:19, "Come and be fishers of men."  Most of them were fishermen by trade and understood how important it was to be able to catch their daily catch.  It is also important to cast our nets and share the gospel with the lost world we live in as the twelve disciples once did. In verse 6 it shares about a relationship with Jesus Christ, not a person or a church.  "Walk as Jesus walked and have faith in Jesus Christ.  As John continued his devotional he shared how our life here needs to be one preparing for our eternal life.  We need to have a purpose and a direction here on earth for the kingdom of God.   We need a personal relationship with Jesus so we can see God through the Holy Spirit.   God relates to us as a Father does to his child.  In order to have this type of relationship takes time from us daily not once in a while.  God eagerly wants a relationship with us through our relationship with his Son through the power of the Holy Spirit.
So as John shared this message on Sunday morning in Spanish  I prayed for Eduardo and for Alexis to receive Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.  They heard it on that crisp warm Sunday morning in the one room church in El Tambora.  So now they are accountable for their actions.
Please do not let another day go by and miss out on the most precious gift of all time, Jesus Christ which will provide you with an eternal home in heaven.  Without Jesus you have nothing.

John 14:1-9

Jesus Comforts His Disciples

14 “Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God[a]; believe also in me. My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going.”

Jesus the Way to the Father

Thomas said to him, “Lord, we don’t know where you are going, so how can we know the way?”
Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you really know me, you will know[b] my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him.”
Philip said, “Lord, show us the Father and that will be enough for us.”
Jesus answered: “Don’t you know me, Philip, even after I have been among you such a long time? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father?
