In November of 2011 there was a request for a home
given to North Carolina Baptist Men by Pastor Juan Bautisto of Choluteca. We went to visit the family. The pastor as well as Mike and I wanted the daughter's name on the papers for the property along beside her mothers' signature. Well it took until November of 2014 for the mother and grandmother of the children to say yes to this request. So we get the proper papers for property in November of 2014 and go pay the family a visit. There are four beautiful children and one who we never got to meet. God placed just the right team with Ramona, grandmother, Jessica, daughter and mother of the children, one daughter, Jessica who is 16 years old and is blessed to continue her education, Orlin, 14 years old and is an excellent construction guy, Rony, age 11 years old and Juan Pablo who is 9 years old. This precious family has waited for four years or more to receive this home and we are grateful for New Hope Baptist Church College team saying yes to the calling to come help the family get this prayer answered.
On the first evening upon arrival Pastor Brian challenged the young people with a question. "What is the dangerous part of a mission trip? They answered in several different ways. But Pastor Brian answered by all lives should be a daily mission trip. We should always be excited about serving the Lord wherever we are and wherever we go. Yet works are good but do not save us. Jesus was a free gift and by Grace you can be saved. He shared with them to get out of God's way this week and see what God will do with each of them. He shared out of Ephesians 2:1-10.
Ephesians 2:1-10New International Version (NIV)
Made Alive in Christ
2 As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, 2 in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient. 3 All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our flesh[a] and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature deserving of wrath. 4 But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, 5 made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved. 6 And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, 7 in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus. 8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9 not by works, so that no one can boast. 10 For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
