Bringing and Receiving JOY

It was a huge blessing to see the dental staff take time away for the children and blessing them with fun and laughter while their parents were being seen.  Dwana taught them some clapping games as they taught her some too.  The smile on Dwana's face shares it all.  Thank you Dwana for coming and serving your Lord in Honduras.  Dwana in human eyes probably should not have been here this week.  She allowed me to share her story.  Three weeks ago Dwana lost a brother and two weeks after that she lost a sister. So within two weeks of each other she lost two siblings and her trip to Honduras was the following week.  You would not have known there was anything going on in her life when she arrived to serve the people of Honduras through her gifts and talents of dental care.  In was not until she got a phone call we realized something was not right.  Tears began flowing as she was talking with her brother back home.  She shared with me Mrs. Ginger this is not easy at all.  I would be wrong in saying this is easy loosing two siblings in two weeks.  But God called me here to serve Him at this time and place.  She shared how she talked with her pastors and they consoled her and prayed with her on her decision.  Basically folks this is living out Jesus.  We are suppose to take up our cross and follow Jesus, no turning back no turning back.  Scriptures says to leave mother, father, brothers, and sisters and follow me.  Those of you reading this now Dwana was Jesus here in Honduras.  She left everything and came here with an open heart and mind and totally gave God her whole being and what a joy she was to everyone she came across.
There was another sadness on our campus this week.  One of our staff members daughter lost her baby and it was very hard for them to handle this loss.  The difference in the two stories is one family knew Jesus and the other family does not know Jesus.  I cannot imagine going through any hardship in life without Jesus Christ carrying me every step of the way.  Is it easy?  Like Dwana shared no it is not easy but she can do all things through Jesus Christ who strengthens me.
You see by Dwana coming to Honduras she would not have had this big smile on her face which you all see above.  She would not have gotten the chance to receive the joy from all the beautiful children who enjoy coloring and clapping hand games.  What joy she would have missed out on by not obeying God's call to come to Honduras.
Becky shared on the first day, she was going to get her instruments clean so she could paly with the children as much as she could.  She got right down on the floor with them and spoke to them with her big gorgeous smile and said they probably don't understand a word I am saying but they know I am saying it with lots of love.
Mariam got down there after working tediously on numerous folks mouth and enjoyed the little ones.  They saw the love of Jesus Mariam radiated with her smile.
Mrs.. Alice got down and I know shared Jesus Christ with them because she speaks their language.   What a picture a blonde headed lady sits down and starts speaking Spanish to you.  I bet those little ones was taken back but soon became great friends with Mrs. Alice as she shared as Jesus would with the little ones.
The beauty of all this these folks took time away from the task at hand to take time for the little ones just like Jesus did.  They built relationships with a coloring page and crayons.  They took time for them and smiled, laughed and spoke a little Spanish with them.  This folks goes along ways in life.  Please take time and follow Jesus no matter your situation in life.  If you have been called then be obedient to His calling and enjoy the many blessings God places in front of you.  Sometimes it can be in the lives of the little ones.
