In Memory Of Bette Lassiter Carter

We all knew this was going to be a very hard week but we all trudged right through it because that is what our sweet sister Bette would have wanted.  A while back Lynn contacted me about bringing something down this week in memory of our dear sweet sister, Bette, Lassiter Carter.  We all knew Bette would not want anyone fussing over her so we made it simple and sweet just like Bette.  The first night of devotions Bernie wanted to know our favorite bible verse which was so appropriate because Lynn had someone from Bette's school paint her favorite bible verse.  Lynn read it to us as she wiped away her tears of sadness and joy for the life Bette lived here on this earth and is now living with her Heavenly Father.  Bette came to Honduras four years ago and after her first year found out she had breast cancer.  Bette was a fighter, never letting the cancer control her life and what she wanted to do for her Lord.  Her doctors asked her to not go to Honduras.  She planned her treatment around her mission trip each year to Honduras.  Bette put her Lord first in her life and He took amazing care of her each time she came to Honduras.  Bette brought radiance of Jesus with her here in Honduras and everywhere she went.  My daughter Allyson shared how humbling her funeral service was as she saw all walks of life.  Lives Bette Lassiter Carter had touched in so many different ways.  If she saw a need she would see what she could do to help out.  There was never anything she would not try to do for someone else.  She always put others before herself.  Her last mission trip she got to be the team leader and bring her sweet daughter Kaylie.  Kaylie painted for us the Mt. Horeb Pulperia Sign which hangs out in front of the Pulperia.  So every time we see this sign we think of our friend Bette and her sweet daughter Kaylie who got to share a little piece of God's Heaven here on earth in Honduras.  Lastly her friend Karen wrote a most touching summary of who Bette was as a person to her and others.  We made our way down to the women's dorm and Mike and Joey hung each piece up on the wall so others can see how Bette loved her Lord first and this country called Honduras.  Rest in peace with our Heavenly Father Bette, we will see you again one day!!!
Victory in Jesus is what you have sweet sister.
