Prayers Answered

The team came upon El Limonal where God had placed them for the next six days they had not a clue what that muddy path was going to do to each of them this week.  They traveled from the church down to the path to lead them to a little piece of Heaven here on earth.  A place where we have prayed for three years to be able to build a home for somebody.  A place where life is so simple yet so full of joy in many ways.  A place where they lack so much but have so much more than we can ever imagine.  So join me on this blog today and find out what a true blessing my family from Longview Baptist got to experience and take home with them as well.

We asked the team to go ahead as they came by and grab something off the Kia.  The Kia was not parked at the project but near the bridge which was as close as we could get to the project.  As they carried the boards, the coolers, the tools and whatever else we have to have to build a home they slid up the embankment through the muddy slimy path which is what they did daily for five days without a complaint from anyone.  As we got closer to the foundation the team still had to cross over slippery rocks which was almost in a river form.  Some wish they had brought boots but everyone managed just fine.

Mike and I had ordered some supplies for the gift shop from Pastor Hector.  He was meeting us in El Limonal to delivery the supplies.  Pastor Hector in his Sunday best carried one of the doors through the muddy slimy path up to the foundation.  Upon his arrival he looked around and noticed three of the team members from last year.  Lynn, Tyler and Danielle had built a home for a member from his church and he recognized the three of them quickly.  It is a small world even in Honduras.

Before going any further we gathered around the foundation which was standing in water as well as the path.  Everyone saw the concern over the water standing but stood in it and got to meet Mercedes and her family.  Mercedes along with us had prayed for more than three years for a home where she could be dry and stay safe at night.  Meida, our translator worked on helping them get their papers by making a visit to the Mayor of Choluteca.  The Mayor of Choluteca delivered  proof of properties to eight different families to us. When Meida handed Mike and I this folder with all these legal documents tears welled up in our eyes, all in God's timing folks.  God had this we just had to wait for Him to do His Work for these precious folks.  So Mercedes was the first family to get a home.  Hopefully as time continues we will be able to continue to build homes in El Limonal.

As for God, his way is perfect: The LORD's word is flawless; he shields all who take refuge in him.
