VBS

The team came down with an agenda with many different visuals with them.  But sadly some of them did not make it and stayed at the airport until they flew out on their last day.  Darren shared we will make this work and this is exactly what they did.  They gathered their 100 plus children daily to sing songs with Meida and each day their was a theme of the day and the team sang to the children with the accompaniment of Darren and a guitar a song which went along with the theme.  At this time a team member came forward to share a short testimony about their life with the word of the day.  Chad was in charge of the recreation for the children daily.  Chad got them in a circle one of the days Mike and got to be there to play hot potato.  I was quiet amazed how calmly this game was played in the sanctuary of the church.  How each one of them played the game with the best sportsmanship the team said they had ever seen in a group of children.  If they got caught they backed up and removed themselves from the circle.  Darren would play the guitar as the ball was going around the room in the circle.  Darren quit playing the guitar and whoever had the ball stepped out of the circle.  After the recreation each day they gathered back together for the Bible story of the day. This group of folks put so much time and effort into providing a meaningful VBS for these children.  They gave these children exactly what they would give their own children at Forest Lake Baptist Church.
