Several of the team members got to go to the kitchen area and learn how to make tortillas. Mary, Toni, Sheri and Pastor Brian. This is not the first man this summer these ladies have taught to make tortillas. Pastor Brian is the chief of the kitchen in his home if I am not mistaken. So he was excited to learn how to prepare a tortilla. Amazingly enough he can cook some awesome beans and rice as well. This group truly loves the Honduran food and gathers together when they are back home to fix as close as they can get to a Honduran meal. So for Sheri and Brian to have learned how to make tortillas was a huge treat for each of them. Toni is a first timer to Honduras and she was blessed and humbled to be able to get involved in a little of the culture these beautiful ladies provided for them. From the construction site the other team members heard giggling and cackling going on in the kitchen as Pastor Brian was entertaining all with his unique techniques of making Honduran tortillas.
It has to be a treat for these ladies to see men making tortillas when they probably have not ever seen this happen before. Thank you Pastor Brian for allowing God to take you out of your comfort zone and entertain our ladies in the kitchen. This is probably the most fun they have had in a while. Thank you for lasting memories.
"Therefore, since we have such a hope, we are very bold."
