Day of Worship

The team prayed up and heading on their hour long journey to Orocuna to worship with their new friends.  There was a greeting committee to welcome those who came through the church doors, thank you Lynn, Karen, Bette and Meida.  There was an responsive reading being handed to each one who came through the door.  Pastor Hector greeted all the team members each individually.  The church was a welcoming place to be this beautiful Sunday morning.

The bulletin being prepared by Meida, Pastor Hector and one of the leaders of the church.  Each Sunday we arrive with not a bit of an agenda until Meida gets with the pastor.  They discuss the order of service at this time and pray it up in the name of Jesus.  Church normally starts around nine or nine fifteen. These precious folks have to walk to church so we may get started by ten. Elsa and her family have at least a mile or so to get to church.  But she walks in with a smile on her face as team member asked where is our precious little family. As she asked the question here walks in Elsa, Lyenna and Carla.  Orbin, her son soon followed after them.  These folks appreciate worshiping the Lord on Sunday mornings by their example.  How do you get to church each Sunday?  What effort to you put into getting to church to worship our Lord and Savior who gave His life for those of us who have received Him as our Lord and Savior.  What kind of sacrifice are you making for our Lord and Savior today?

During the worship service some of Longview's young people participated.  Josh and Tyler did a children's sermon on The Narrow and Wide Gate.  Josh used a marble to show how easy it was to get through the wide gate and how difficult it is to get through the narrow gate.  But Josh shared with the boys and girls the narrow gate is the best gate because it leads to eternal life with Jesus.  Jesus can help us get through the narrow gate if we would only receive HIM as our Lord and Savior and allow HIM to work in our lives.
Jessica got up there and took me by complete surprise.  She had the responsive reading which was given out earlier by Karen and Addison.  She started reading in Spanish and the congregation followed and read the next section.  And they continued this until the reading was complete.  Jessica never skipped a beat.  Her Spanish was amazing and what was so heart warming was to hear mostly the children reading their part when their turn came.  What a beautiful morning serving our Lord.

The service continued with prayer and Pastor Hector welcoming the church and visitors.  The team got up to sing their song which they had worked so hard on, Victory in Jesus.  The church sang along with them when they got to the chorus.  They sang the verses in English and sand their chorus in Spainsh.  The church family was warmed by their efforts in singing in their native language.  Thank you all for the hard work and effort put into this song.
Mike preached on the Narrow and Wide Gate from Matthew 7.  He shared as did Josh how it is not an easy road to take to get through the narrow gate but with Jesus all things are possible.  The hard work is worth the rewards God provides through eternal life.  I challenge you all who are reading this today what road are you going down and what gate are you entering. the easy way, the way of the world, the wide gate or the narrow gate where lies an eternal life with our Lord and Savior.  He sacrificed HIS life for us so we can have eternal life and we were not promised it would be an easy journey but the end results are amazingly awesome.  Eternity with our Lord and Savior.  Decide today which gate you want to go through and I pray it is the Narrow Gate.
