Special Breakfasts

Each day the team had an additional new person to cook a special dish.  The first morning the original team cooked bacon, eggs, grits and tortillas.  The next morning was the traditional pancakes done by Danielle.  Each morning was always served with fresh fruit, pineapple and bananas.

New team member Lisa was a willing servant and made balallas which is a Honduran breakfast which made our Honduran staff very happy.  It has a tortilla shell, eggs, bacon, crema and refried beans.  This was a huge success with North Americans and Honduran staff.

The Sunday morning breakfast was a North American dish, breakfast casserole.  The Hondurans enjoyed this along with Mr. Mike.  This is one of his favorite dishes he does not get very often.  Thank you Karen and Addison for putting this together during the storm that night.  The power kept going on and off and finally got to go fry their sausage while the power came back on.  But as they were finishing up the sausage the bottom fell out again.  So they sacrificed a lot for that sausage in the breakfast casserole.

Danielle also cooked French toast for her team one morning.  This was mixed with some Honduran breakfast as well.  We were not sure if the Hondurans would enjoy this dish.  We found one who did our very own Martha and named it out in Spanish right away.  Thank you Danielle for going the extra mile.

The last big meal of the week was eggs in a basket.  New team member Charity worked very hard making this little treats.  She rolled out loaf bread and molded them into a muffin pan and place an egg and cheese into it and cooked them in the oven.  So we added some Honduran food to her menu in case our staff did not want any.  Pastor Carlos' wife ate two of them.  So this North American dish was a huge success as well.
Thank you to all who went to a lot of trouble each morning to prepare your team with a healthy and filling breakfast for the day ahead.  Job well done.

Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts,
