Our Two Dentist

Thank you so much Dr. John for answering the calling to lead this dental team.  Due to personal reasons for a former team leader we had not had a dental team in two years. Dr. John stepped up to the plate and said he would bring a team.  John has done a phenomenal job leading his team daily and letting them know what to expect on a daily basis.  He has been their encourager and he has led by example.
Dr. John on day four only saw seven patients which does not sound like a lot but when you start examining inside some of these mouths you understand why.  He shared he had one patient with over seven problems needing assistance.  His entire day was each mouth had multiple problems.  Dr. John did his best to meet these needs as he continuously restored front teeth for these patients which John shared could last them up to ten more years if well taken care. Dr. John shared also with his team HOT does not hurt.  A very good phrase to remember here in Honduras.  Dr. John was assisted by Susan, a long timer coming to Honduras and our Meida who translated for them.  Dr. John shared there was several times Meida would take a towel and wipe the sweat from his brow.  We were hot  Dr. John said but it was a beautiful hot doing what God called us to do serve the people. Dr.  John had one little boy he worked on for an hour or so.  This little fellow was a champ Dr. John shared.  He never once cried or moved.  Also by Dr. John's side was Hannah who also wants to be a dentist one day.  So as well as doing his job, Dr. John took the time to explain certain procedures to Hannah and helping her learn more about hands on dentistry.  Thank you Dr. John thank you for saying yes earlier in the year to this most amazing week with each of you.

Dr. Horace also came along beside Dr. John two years ago with our last dental team.  He shared with Dr. John I will go with you if you form this team.  Dr. Horace also did restoration on many patients this week.  Dr. Horace had a child this week too who took him a very long time and once again this child did an amazing job.  Dr. Horace shared the little girl came in not smiling because of the situation her mouth was in but left with the biggest prettiest smile you had ever seen.  Dr. Horace shared one evening about the children who came would not let you do their repairs at that time.  They would come back later and allow this to be done.  He shared he felt they needed their parents approval to been seen by the dentist.  This was all ages.  The young people here respect their parents and authority figures in most high regards.   Dr. Horace worked steadily all week with the most beautiful smile on his face.  One morning he did the devotions and spoke on one of Mike's and my favorite passages, Romans 12:1-2.  He shares how we need to seek God's word for our guidance in life.  God's word does not change.  He shares with his own children back home if it is not biblical written then it is not true.  In other words we need to be in God's word daily to know how we are suppose to live out our lives daily.  We need not be a part of this world.  We are to live in it but we need to be separate from the world and let our light shine in the darkness.  We need to be different from the world and live our lives for Jesus.  AMEN!!!

Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God--this is your true and proper worship.
Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is--his good, pleasing and perfect will.
Romans 12:1-2

The LORD had said to Abram, "Go from your country, your people and your father's household to the land I will show you.
