Sunday Worship

On the end of day one the team arrived around 5:30 or so exhausted after seeing 48 patients.  In behind them drove up the police from the police check point.  Mike walked to the gate to see what they needed.  After several minutes of conversation Mike invited them onto the ministry campus.  Team leader, John was buying his coke when they walked up to the porch of the pulperia de Mt. Horeb.  They were introduced to each other and the chief of police asked if the policeman could receive dental care.  After the first day the team was already booked up for the entire week.  It was discussed back and forth for a while and Mike mentioned the option of doing it on Sunday morning and cutting it off at noon.  Dr. John shared he would have to discuss this with the team and let the police chief know the next morning.  Well as you can see above everyone animously said yes and opted to worship on the front porch of the North American Dorm on Sunday morning from 8:00 to 12 noon.
This was such a an amazing opportunity for us to build a more positive relationship with our local law enforcement.  Also while the chief was with us he asked Pastor Carlos could he come and lead the men in a bible study at the police check point station.  Pastor Carlos said yes and will be going weekly after his worship service on Wednesday with his church up in the mountains.  He will arrive at the police station around 8:00 pm or so to lead the gentlemen in a bible study.  God is so good as they arrived on Sunday we also were able to see some of our staff as well who did not come on Wednesday.  So we got our staff taken care of and started assisting the police who were able to come for a dental check up.  While they were waiting to be seen Pastor Carlos shared the gospel with those waiting their turn.  During this time one of the gentlemen accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.  So by not worshiping inside of the four walls of a church building on Sunday morning and got out of our box and worshipped during a dental clinic we have one more brother in Christ.  All God's people shouted AMEN!!!!!
At the end of the clinic which ended right at noon Mike gathered everyone together to thank the police for all they do to keep the community safe.  We all gathered around in a circle while Pastor Carlos closed our worship service with an amazing prayer of thanksgiving to God for all His provisions for each of us daily.  Pastor Carlos gave God all the praise and honor for this day and what was accomplished.
There was five salvations this week and 230 patients who received:
149 composite fillings
48 Silver fillings
144 extractions
7 root canals
79 tooth cleanings

Most of all there was five salvations which is why this amazing team came to Honduras is to use their gifts and skills to bring the lost to Jesus Christ.  We can all walk away with a beautiful smile but if this smile does not radiate the love of Jesus Christ it will be just that a smile.  So praise the Lord for the five new brothers and sisters in Christ.  Thank you Jacksonville Dental Team for coming back and doing what you do so well serve others through the name of Jesus.
