Fresh Fish Anyone

The ladies of the church prepared a very scrumptious fish plate for thirty plus people.  They worked at the pastor's home, Jose house all morning cleaning, cutting, carrying from one house to another different foods and caring for each team member first and foremost before their very own people.  Pastor Carlos' wife and daughters along with Yeimi cooked along with the church ladies until every plate was piled high with chismol, tajatas and a full fish with head tail and all the good stuff in the middle.  We sat around a covered area where the outside kitchen was and everyone had a plastic chair to sit down and enjoy one of the best meals of the week.  Pastor Brian was more than happy this week getting all his favorite Honduran foods on a regular basis.  All except one day when he and John Scott did not take sandwiches and were not offered lunch that day.  Pastor Brian said we graciously enjoyed chips and cookies eagerly awaiting for the Chinese dinner prepared by Ingrid our awesome cook of many delicious meals daily.  As Pastor Brian said this was not eternal.  When on any given day a Honduran may only get one meal a day so he was grateful for what he had that day.  What an amazing prospective Pastor Brian walked away with this week.  Eat all you take out and take out only what you can eat.  North Americans live to eat and the Hondurans eat to live.  Ponder on that statement for a while the next time you set down to your third meal of the day.  We as a nation are so blessed and do not even know it.  Thank you Pastor Brian for reminding us where our priority should be in our daily lives.
