Chicken Soup

Monday morning the team headed out for another beautiful day going door to door sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ. It was a fruitful morning for Joanne where she went back to a home she visited on Friday to give the family a bible and pray with them again.  They had just recently lost a daughter of three years of age.  Joanne has peace now knowing the family has a bible to go to when their days will be hard.  Susan had a huge God moment as she entered her first home to see the grandmother show the team what her grandchildren had done with them on Friday in VBS.  They had made a flower out of tissue paper and glued it onto a piece of paper.  Isaac shared the last house they went to  they shared the gospel with this family as one gentleman watched from the door listen intently to what was being shared.  As they gathered to pray the gentleman at the door entered the home and two people received Christ this day.  Angels in heaven rejoiced as these two received the greatest gift of all, eternal life.  Pastor Matty shared his God moment was when with Reuben's help were heading towards a pulperia and the lady said to them, "Do not come here unless you plan on buying something from me."  Pastor Matty and his group all bought a coke from this lady. Pastor Matty proceeded to share the Wordless Book to all who were standing around at the pulperia that afternoon.  Two people came to Christ all because Pastor Matty and group all bought a coke.  What if they had not spent the money on a coke?  Just a thought what if?  We never know what God will use to bring the lost to Christ. Today this lady and one other person received the greatest gift of all Jesus Christ all because of one coke.
Everyone made their way back to church for a tasty lunch of chicken soup. The ladies of the church had it ready to eat once they arrived.  We like to say thank you to three hens of Mt. Horeb for providing us such a scrumptious lunch.  We enjoyed a time of fellowship with our Honduran brothers and sisters as well as we broke bread together.  After lunch we got another special treat a banana drink which was nice and cold to the taste.  Thank you church family for providing us with some special hospitality.
Monday evening Susan lead a devotional on stress and anxiousness.  Stress will wreak arrogance in a person and make their testimony weak.  Today there was several times these three groups could have gotten stressed out about their home visits or people putting up barriers.  But as you have read the group was well equipped to take on whatever was placed before them.  Susan read out of Psalm 4:8 and expressed with God we will find perfect peace in all situations when we  are grounded in His Word.
