One Amazing Lady

Ten years ago Mike and Ginger were blessed when God placed this young lady in our lives.  We built their first home in July of 2010.  She was a very weary and tired young lady who had taken on the role of mother to her siblings at the age of 21.  She herself also had a small little one named Anna who today is ten years old.  Her life was hard then and is still hard today.  God kept us in touch with one another over the years.  Mike and I prayed for them to have their daily needs.  Alexia was blessed to work in the melon fields and has been working in them since we have known her.  She worked herself up to supervisor in the melon fields and also seems to be a great take charge kind of person here on Mt Horeb. She has excellent leadership skills.  It is so obvious when on her home turf she is definitely in charge of all who live there.  The children respect her highly and she only has to speak once and they get done what needs to get done when she speaks to any of them.  Alexia is the matriarch of her surroundings in El Carrizo.  She loves her family and takes very good care of them physically and over the years Mike and I have seen her grow spiritually with a strong relationship with Jesus Christ.  At the police worship service one evening she boldly volunteer to share her testimony and challenged all the police to be in God's Word and to live their lives for Him.  God is the only one who can protect each of you totally when you are out working to protect each of us here and around this area of Choluteca.  God's Word needs to be the foundation of your life.  Wow, Mike and I looked at each other in awe.  I feel Alexia got mentored strongly by our Martha who worked beside Alexia for four years here at Mt. Horeb.  Alexia has overcome so many obstacles in her life and is a stronger young lady because of it.  One of my favorite things to do with Alexia is to work puzzles with her because she is so good at them.  I feel when Alexia is at the puzzle table all her cares leave her for a short time.  She embraces this time of stillness working one puzzle piece at a time.  She has not a single responsibility at this moment at the puzzle table.  Also, she is quiet the cornhole player as well.  She and I were cornhole champions just last week.  We are blessed to have Alexia part of our staff family and we thank God for her life and her beautiful smile which will radiate any where she goes.
