Home Dedication

I personally knew this was going to be a very emotional day for Mike and I.  Please note we did not have Meida this week because of the size of our team.  But please note we all survived the week okay, even though Meida is a big part of this ministry.  God allowed some of us who hardly ever speak their Spanish to kick up a few notches.  God blesses us with Pastor Carlos who understands Spanglish very well. Derek thanked the family for allowing him and Bob to help this dream become a reality.  Throughout all the obstacles of language barrier and few North Americans God got the job done to completion and right on time, His time.  Derek asked Pastor Carlos to read from Hebrews 3:1-6 an Ezra 10:4.  The Hebrews reference shares how man can build the house but God is the builder of everything.  Moses was a faithful servant in all God's house bearing witness to what would be spoken by God in the future  This week God spoke loudly throughout this community called El Carrizo by using who He chose to make this house become a beautiful home for these ten young adults and children. Derek then opened the floor for comments.  Juan Carlos and Fernando both shared from their hearts of thankfulness to God first and foremost.  Juan Carlos with tears in his eyes was all we needed and then I looked over at Alexa and she was crying alligator tears down her precious face. I looked over at her to see if she wanted to speak any words and she nodded no to me with a weak smile.  She was overwhelmed with gratitude and simply had no words to share.
I went to google translate and wrote out what I wanted to say to the children God has placed in mine and Mike's life.  My first mistake was looking at Alexa as tears started flowing down my cheeks as well. I struggled as I shared how ten years ago in July their first home was built when they all were just children except for three of you.  How now God has developed you into strong Christian young people who love their Lord and live out your lives for HIM.  I shared how your mother would be so very proud of you today and your accomplishments in life.  Today I want to thank God for the lives of each of you and how much you all mean to Mike and I.  We are so very proud to be apart of your lives.
At this time we asked Alexia to pray over her brothers home as she prayed over the first block on the first day.  We covered this home in prayer from day one to the completion of the home.  Alexa did a beautiful job praying with all heart glorifying God in all of it.  She was able to pray and give God praise and honor without one shed tear.  To God be the glory.  Afterwards Derek presented the family Bible to the boys and their keys.  They opened the door and everyone came in for some final moments of joy together one last time.

1Therefore, holy brothers,a you who share in a heavenly calling, consider Jesus, the apostle and high priest of our confession, 2who was faithful to him who appointed him, just as Moses also was faithful in all God’sb house. 3For Jesus has been counted worthy of more glory than Moses—as much more glory as the builder of a house has more honor than the house itself. 4(For every house is built by someone, but the builder of all things is God.) 5Now Moses was faithful in all God’s house as a servant, to testify to the things that were to be spoken later, 6but Christ is faithful over God’s house as a son. And we are his house, if indeed we hold fast our confidence and our boasting in our hope.
Hebrews 3:1-6
Also Pastor Carlos shared Proverbs 24:3-5.  Interestingly Derek had picked this one out as well but chose to do Hebrews.  God has a way of using us in mighty ways, same God just a different language.
