Welcome Arlington and Maplewood Baptist Church Evangelism Team

We were so excited to have Pastor Matty and his six team members, Susan, Bobby, David, Zach, his sixteen year old son Issac and one member from Maplewood Baptist church Joanne.  They came equipped and ready to do what God has called them to do go and share the love of Jesus Christ with boldness into a community filled with hurt, pain and darkness.  But this is our world we live in today.  Satan is very real people and this team came equipped to meet any and every obstacle Satan threw at them. Pastor Matty shared with Mike and I how they have been preparing since they formed their team completely back in February.  They meet once a month to prep but to especially pray over what God has in store for each of them while they are here in Honduras.  Pastor Matty prepares them culturally how to act, dress and engage with the people of Honduras.  Pastor Matty shared how he prayed for Mike and I as well as our staff each month they met until they arrived in Honduras.  It was humbling for Mike and I to know we are prayed over as part of the preparation of coming to Honduras by this team.  Pastor Matty reassured us he and his team pray for us contiously  as does so many others who are involved in the ministry here in Honduras.
There first evening which was Thursday for this team started out preparing themselves by practicing the song they would be singing in church on Sunday on the North American porch.  Zach accompanied them on the guitar and he sang some of the song in Spanish as they all practice the hymn "Because He Lives".  Mike and I were refreshed as they took us on a week long journey of revival in the name of Jesus Christ.  After dinner we moved to the multi-purpose porch to share the beginning of week long amazing devotionals.  The team comes prepared before arriving with their devotionals completed and know which day they will be sharing.  We not only had evening devotional but we also gathered each morning after a full breakfast and washing their dishes to a thirty minute devotional on the multi-purpose building.  Pastor Matty I miss our times together this morning as I type of this beautiful journey with you and your equipped team.
Susan shared the first devotional that evening after a long day traveling to get to Mt. Horeb. She shared out of a book called Crazy Love, Francis Chan, author about how we as humans make God so small.  Susan shared how VBS is going to be about God's creation as well as leading up to Jesus' giving His life for us.  God is so much bigger than we give HIM credit.  He is almighty and our everything.  We do not take the time back home to endure the beauty of His Creation.  Susan shared sometimes she feels like she is drowning, trying to do everything for God instead of submerging my life into God's most Holy Presence.  This week Susan shared "I hope this week while we are serving beside our God who is so much more than we give Him credit for we all will submerge ourselves totally into God and what He has for each of us to do this week."  Susan shared numerous Bible verses about God and His Creation.
Psalm 28:30, Psalm 19:1, John 1:3, Job 12:7-10 Psalm 96:11-12 Psalm 8:3-4  Psalm 29:3-5 and Romans 1:20.  I challenge all who are reading this journey to look up and take time to be still and be submerged in God's Holy Presence.
