Enjoying Mt. Horeb

This team truly enjoyed their time on Mt. Horeb.  Erica and Kim enjoyed relaxing in the evenings with their new hammocks.  How special it was after a long day to get cleaned up and pile up in your hammock to close out your day in God's Word.  As well each afternoon we sat on the pulperia porch, Pulperia de Mt. Horeb and enjoyed a cold fresca, coke or diet coke as we went over the events of the day.  How each afternoon someone had a life lesson brought back from Colonia Unidas.  There was so many God moments sitting right there on the pulperia de Mt. Horeb.
How neighbors helped neighbors and do we see this at home. Do neighbors go out and help a neighbor build a home or even cut their neighbors grass?  The group said they saw such love and joy amongst everyone there in the good and the bad.  Their Honduran friends were content with life which we all could learn from. What is true joy and contentment?  It cannot be touched and you can only have it when you give your whole being to the Lord and let go of all the stuff that is clogging up your lives.  All we need is Jesus.
Mike, the team member, shared how this neighborhood had build relationships with one another.  They knew each other and were there for each other. As Mike observed the children working so hard for their neighbor, Ezekiel, it encouraged me to work even hard. I needed to give God my all.  The first day on the project allowed me to exam myself and how I help others at home and at work.  How do I truly serve others with my life?  I believe we can all this as well.  By being here away from our "world" and being still by reading God's Word or taking the time to reflect on your day helps all of us put life in prospective.  We need not be a part of this world but of the Kingdom work for our Father.
