Many Jobs

The completion of our prayer over the first block led to everyone scattering to get this house into a home.  Mike, missionary, gave a quick course on Block 101 for all our new friends.  They all learned very quickly and started laying those 800 blocks and filling those joints with mescal.  Our work space was quiet tight.  They were mixing the mescal on the road.  Ray took the block cutting up on a hill above the foundation.  Erica and Kim assisted with this. At some point Ray turned the block cutting over to Mike, team member who did an amazing job until one day there were four different requests all at the same time and then it got a little interesting.  The block got cut correctly but were being delivered to the wrong folks.  But God got it all worked out and everyone got their correct block.  Erica had to clean up the area for cutting the blocks where there was just a lot of limbs laying around.  Kim got promoted to filling in joints with Meida behind Javier who was laying out some blocks.  They kept up with him but it was a lot of work and beautiful joints I must say Kim. The men were working along side Mike, missionary, laying blocks as if they had always done this.  They caught on quickly how to do it the Honduran way and how beautifully it all started coming together.
There was so many jobs and so many willing servants out on this job site helping each other wherever they were needed.  Others started showing up from the church and the neighborhood as the first morning turned into the afternoon of the first day.  By day two more volunteers showed up to help out as well.  Martin, a long time family friend showed up from another community to help his friend Ezekiel get a home.  Saul took his only vacation week to help Ezekiel get his home.  The lady across the street who watch carefully all week from her front steps as her son helped all week.  But when it came time to put the floor down there she was, this was her expertise, mixing the mortar for the floor.  Folks this is one of the hardest jobs on the project.  This lady was a beast and served her neighbor proudly.  There was so many others who came along to help each and every day because that is what friends, family and neighbors do help each other in a time of need.
