Mixing the Mescala

As some folks continued moving blocks some moved on to mixing mescal.  Burt, Steve, Phil and Ray went over to assist Ezekiel in the process of mixing mescal.  As the morning progressed others came on board to help mix the mescal and carry the buckets to each wooden platform sitting on blocks for support.  This is an endless job where they have to keep the recipe pouring out.  Four bags of cement to 48 shovels of sand and just the right amount of water to make their volcano. They have to make sure their volcano does not erupt or pour over.  It must stay secure as they mix and shovel and mix some more until the consistency is just right to go between to blocks one thumb width.  There is a lot of work in preparing for the very first block to be prayed over.  I believe we are almost ready.
