Time with the Lord

Each evening we had time in God's Word.  This group led an amazing discussion on each topic each evening.  I was grateful for this time to hear others share their love for Jesus Christ, their relationship with Jesus Christ and their stories of their walk with Jesus Christ.  This group was a family who allowed us to be a part of this week.  It was more than a devotional.  It was like we were in our very own small group for five days.
Ray shared about trust and patiently wait on God. He compared the story of Daniel and the Lions Den.  How Daniel put 100 percent trust in the Lord.  Our task is to build God's Kingdom this week.  This is our goal to trust in the Lord with all our hearts.

Steve shared his testimony and how we as Christians are not perfect but praise God for His Grace and Mercy each day.  We need to clean our slates daily in His Presence. Our church family is where we can get revived by seeking God through Christian relationships but most of all by seeking God for the strength we need through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Phil shared how we need to love others. He referenced Colossians 3:12-17.  We should show compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. We cannot do this without Christ in our lives. We need to love people where they are.  How long will it take to show how much we know until we show how much we care. We can only share this way through God from His Word.  We cannot fix anything only God can fix it.
Burt shared about our citizenship. Is our citizenship with man or God? The characteristics of my citizenship should be one of sober mind,  exhibit the Fruit of the Spirit, live in peace and joy.  How do we do this? We love the Lord our God with all our heart soul and mind.  The only way we have true citizenship in God is to not love the ways of this world.  We can live in the world but we do not have to live of the world.  We need to love others as God first loved us. We become one of humility and not prideful in our walk with the Lord.  So in order to have a citizenship with God you have to receive His Son Jesus Christ and live out your life daily totally relying on Him for all things. We cannot love as God loves without Jesus.
