Mary and Martha

On the last evening Mike had the devotional for the team.  Before he shared our story of how we can to Honduras he read from the scripture about Mary and Martha.  He shared how he hoped they all took time this week to be Mary's up on top of this beautiful little piece of Heaven.  Because this was there one and only chance and I personally saw where they took time to be Martha a whole lot, this team of seven rocked it as far as helping the Hondurans build Rudy' home.  But they became Mary's at different times as well.  As I shared in another blog Amanda took time out on the most important day the last day when the roof was going up and the floor was going down to share the salvation bracelets with Hilsi and her family members.
Jon and David shared a game of marbles with several of the children during lunch one day.  Oh my did this warm my heart.  They got down on the ground to these sweet ones level and played marbles for quiet some time. They were sitting at the feet of Jesus sharing Jesus' love with these little ones. It was a beautiful moment on top of Las Uvas you two godly men.  Thank you for taking time with the children.  This is something they do not get a lot of is adult time.  Their parents are too busy just trying to provide their physical needs, not that they do not want to but it takes them all day to get the chores of the day completed so everyone will get at least one or two meals.
Telfair I suppose had two Mary moments, one was up on the scaffolding one day as he turned around and looked out over God's creation.  He took time as he was helping with the channel block.  On the last morning as everything was winding down he came in the house with the little boy who would not let anyone touch him but Hilsi.  He was Hilsi's nephew.  I was shocked and Telfair was full of joy to be able to finally put this little one in his arms.  It was a short lived moment but it was a special one.  Then Telfair sat down at the table with Mike and I and we all three took the time to give God glory for such a beautiful week together.  Here we encouraged Telfair on how amazing team leader he was and we thanked him for his team and all their hard work.  So I suppose Telfair had three Mary moments.
Mr. Doug, the beast on the team was just that.  This gentleman was the oldest team member and a humble gentleman.  Each day he would remove himself from the job just to go look out over God's creation.  He would stay there for at least five or so minutes basting in the beauty of what God has given these beautiful people on the top of Las Uvas.  The view was definitely breathtaking if you took the time to enjoy it.  These sweet folks get to enjoy this view daily and now Rudy and Hilsi can look out their front door each day to this grandeur scene. God is so good.
Dear sweet Robin she worked hard all week.  But when it came time to sign the bible and put in her favorite bible verse, she removed herself from the team and went to the table on the pulperia porch and sincerely took the time to put just the right bible verse in the family Bible the team would present at the home dedication.  Robin stayed hot a lot but she never let it slow her down, but one day she chose to let it stop her and I got blessed to just sit and talk with her on the multi purpose porch.  She and I both were Mary's that day.  Simply sharing Jesus with each other and how big He is in our lives.  Thank you Robin for our special time together.  It meant so much to me.  And when you set with Martha on the porch and listen to her sing hymns while you both were rocking in rhythm together.  You took time to be a Mary a lot this week and to God be the glory!!!
Rosemary on the last day was found up on a cliff behind Rudy and Hilsi's home with about five children.  They were teaching Rosemary the days of the week in Spanish and she was teaching the children days of the week in English.  She took time away from the project to be still at the feet of Jesus with these little ones.  Well done good and faithful servant.
