The Perez Family

Before we gathered to meet the family officially Meida walked over to introduce herself to Cindi.  Mike, team leader, was reunited with Luis Jr.  Mike was here one month prior to the team coming and actually accessed this project with us and Luis Jr. remembered Miguel Dos.  It was a great reunion. Miguel uno reunited with Luis and told him how proud he was of the foundation and how excited everyone was to be here to help him get his new home.  Tom learned how to make tortillas before we even unloaded the Kia.

Finally we circled up and had our formal introductions with the Perez family.   Luis, husband and father, Cindi, wife and mother, Marie Elena, age 7  Luis Alfredo, age 4 and Cindi age two months was our blessings this week.  Luis was a humble and quiet gentleman who loved his family and served them to the best of his ability.  His job was macheting which the week we built his home he was not working.  So there was not any income coming into his home this week but he was receiving his mansion and I saw something he did at the introduction I had never experienced before.  Luis went around and shook everyone's hand and welcomed them to his home and thank them for coming to help him build his new home.  Cindi spent her days this week cooking for the Honduran workers and nursing her new born baby girl.  She was a blessing to all of us with her gentle spirit and contagious smile of gratitude.  Luis Alfredo was your typical four year old boy who is daddy gently kept in shape.  Marie was in school in the mornings but was picked up daily by her daddy on his bicycle.  Their daily routines as I sat back and watched one day kept them all very busy just like we are back home.  But their business was meeting immediate needs for this day.  Bert shared this day affects "that day".  Well their lives exhibited "that day" daily.  They showed us all how you can find true joy and peace in life by living your lives for Jesus Christ.  The team was forever blessed.
